DXB Terminal 3 to Downtown, Thursday
Flight-tracked pickup. If the plane is late the car waits, and clause 02 says for how long.
EK 048 lands 14:05 on Thursday. Dispatch watches the flight, not the clock, so a two hour delay does not cost you anything. What does cost you is not calling if you get held at immigration past the free window.
Airport sedan, Thursday 15 October, EK 048 from London Heathrow, scheduled 14:05 at Terminal 3. Driver meets you in arrivals with a name board, after customs. Sixty minutes of free waiting from actual landing, extended automatically if the flight is delayed.

The pickup
Where the driver will be
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Flight | EK 048, London Heathrow to Dubai, scheduled 14:05 |
| Terminal | 3, arrivals |
| Meeting point | Inside the arrivals hall, past customs, at the meeting point pillar. Not kerbside |
| Name board | Your surname, on a tablet, held by the driver |
| Driver details | Name, photograph and plate sent to your phone 60 minutes before landing |
| Vehicle | Executive sedan, black, up to 3 passengers |
| Destination | Downtown Dubai, as booked. A change of destination is charged on the meter |
| Journey time | About 25 minutes at that hour, 40 in heavy traffic |
| Contact | Driver's direct number is in the same message. Call him, not the desk |
Waiting
The clock starts when the wheels touch, not when you booked
| Situation | What happens | Charge |
|---|---|---|
| Flight lands on time, you clear in 40 minutes | Driver is there | Nothing |
| Flight is 3 hours late | Dispatch moves the driver automatically. You do nothing | Nothing |
| Flight diverted to another terminal | Dispatch moves the driver. Call if you can | Nothing |
| You clear customs in 75 minutes | Driver waits | USD 18 for the extra 20 minutes |
| Held at immigration for 2 hours, and you call | Driver waits, and the desk keeps him | Waiting charged from minute 61 |
| Held for 2 hours and you do not call | Driver released at 90 minutes | Full fare, and a new booking |
| Flight cancelled | Booking moved free to any date | Nothing |
| You cancel more than 6 hours before | n/a | Full refund |
The one row that costs real money is not calling. A driver holding a name board for two hours with no contact has no way to know whether you are in an immigration queue or asleep in a hotel, and at 90 minutes the desk releases him to another job.
Practical
The three things people ask at booking
- Child seats are free and legally required for under-fours here, but they must be requested at booking. A driver cannot produce one at the kerb
- Three large cases do not fit a sedan with three passengers. Book the van; the price difference is smaller than the problem
- Salik tolls are added at cost after the trip, usually USD 3 to 5. Nothing else is added afterwards
- Tipping is not expected and the fare is the fare
- The driver will not take a different destination without it going through the desk, because the insurance and the fare are both booked to an address
