Supercar Day · from USD 850
Huracán EVO, Saturday 14 November, one day
Al Quoz, Dubai. Eligibility cleared, hotel delivery booked, deposit held.
You are cleared and the car is held. The three things that decide whether this is a good day are the mileage allowance, the Salik and fine handling, and the fact that this car may not leave the UAE. All three are below rather than in the small print.
Lamborghini Huracán EVO, plate P 44719, held for Saturday 14 November, 09:00 to 09:00 Sunday. Delivery to your hotel at 09:00 and collection from the same address. A USD 4,000 deposit is pre-authorised, not charged, and releases 14 days after return once fines have settled.

Money at risk
Deposit, excess and what each one is for
Two separate numbers that people routinely confuse. The deposit is a hold. The excess is the most you pay in an insured incident.
| What happens | You pay | From |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing. Car returned as delivered | Nothing | Deposit released in 14 days |
| Kerbed wheel | At cost, typically USD 900 | Deposit |
| Stone chip or minor paint | At cost | Deposit |
| Insured accident, your fault | USD 2,700 excess | Deposit, then invoiced |
| Insured accident, not your fault | Excess, refunded on recovery | Deposit, returned later |
| Uninsured event, see clause 04 | Full vehicle value | Invoiced |
| Traffic fines and Salik | At cost plus USD 25 each | Deposit |
| Returned less than full | Fuel plus USD 60 | Deposit |
The deposit is pre-authorised on your card and is never charged unless something above applies. It is held for 14 days after return because Dubai traffic fines take up to that long to appear against the plate.
Prohibited
What voids the insurance entirely
- Anyone other than you driving, including moving it in a car park
- Taking the car outside the UAE. It may not cross into Oman and the plate is flagged at the border
- Any track, circuit, drag strip or timed event, including open pit days
- Off road, unsealed surfaces, or the desert
- Driving under the influence of anything at all. The UAE limit is zero
- Towing, carrying commercial loads, or any paid passenger service
- Smoking or vaping in the car, which is a USD 500 valet charge rather than an insurance matter
Coming back
Return, and the seven days after
-
Collection at your hotel
Driver walks the car with you and reshoots the same 42 frames.
-
Condition comparison
Both sets side by side. You get them both, whether or not anything is found.
-
Fuel and mileage settled
Any overage itemised against the photographed odometer reading.
-
First fine sweep
Dubai fines against the plate. Anything found is itemised with the date and time.
-
Deposit released
In full, less anything above. A release takes 3 to 5 working days to appear on your card.
-
A late fine
Invoiced separately with evidence. It does not reopen the deposit.
| Late return | Charge |
|---|---|
| Up to 1 hour | Nothing |
| 1 to 3 hours | USD 170 per hour |
| Over 3 hours | A further full day at USD 1,360 |
| Over 24 hours with no contact | Reported, and the deposit is retained |
Call the roadside number if you are running late. An hour's notice usually turns a full day charge into nothing, because the car can be re-slotted.
