Mobile Exterior Detail · from USD 95
Exterior detail, Saturday, your driveway
West LA. Water and power from the van, and the three things that cancel the slot.
Mateo arrives at 09:00 on Saturday with water and power on board, so he needs the driveway and nothing else. Clause 03 is the condition record from your photographs, and it matters because a detail makes existing paint damage more visible rather than less.
Exterior detail, Saturday 10 October, 09:00, about two hours at your address. The van carries its own water, power and waste capture, so no hookup is needed. Two existing marks were noted from your photographs and are recorded below so they are not attributed to the detail.

The site
What the driveway needs to be
| Requirement | Your address | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Space, 3 m clear around the vehicle | Confirmed from your photo | Mateo works all the way round |
| Van parking within 20 m | Street, confirmed | Hoses reach 25 m |
| Water | Carried, 180 litres | No outside tap needed |
| Power | Carried, inverter and battery | No outlet needed |
| Waste water | Captured on a mat and tanked | Nothing goes to the storm drain |
| Shade or cover | None. See clause 04 | Matters above 30 C |
| Permission to work there | Your own driveway | HOA notification not required, you confirmed |
Waste capture is not optional in Los Angeles. Washing a car into a storm drain is an ordinance violation and the fine goes to the property as well as to the operator, which is why every AutoGlow van carries a mat and a tank.
The work
What an exterior detail is
| Stage | What happens | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-rinse and foam | Lifts loose dirt before anything touches the paint | 15 min |
| Wheels, arches, tyres | Separate tools, done first, never reused on paint | 20 min |
| Contact wash | Two bucket, fresh mitt | 25 min |
| Decontaminate | Iron fallout and tar | 20 min |
| Clay | Bonded contaminants, by hand | 20 min |
| Dry and seal | Six month synthetic sealant | 20 min |
| Glass and trim | Exterior glass, plastics dressed | 10 min |
This is a cleaning and protection job, not a correction job. It removes contamination and adds a sealant; it does not remove scratches, swirls or etching, which is what the Premium Vehicle Care service does over a full day.
Condition
What was noted before we start
| Location | Observed | Will the detail change it? |
|---|---|---|
| Rear passenger door, lower | Scuff through clear coat, about 40 mm | No. It will look more obvious when clean |
| Front bumper, nearside | Stone chipping, typical for age | No. Sealant will not fill chips |
| Bonnet and roof | Light swirling, typical of automatic car washes | Reduced in appearance, not removed |
| Alloys | Brake dust bonded, no kerbing seen | Yes, this will come off |
| Glass | Water spotting | Yes |
Noted from the four photographs you sent and confirmed in a walkaround before work starts. If Mateo finds something not on this list, he photographs it and shows you before touching the car.
Weather
The three things that move the slot
| Condition | What happens | Money |
|---|---|---|
| Rain | Rescheduled. Sealant does not cure in the wet | Free move |
| Above 35 C with no shade | Moved to an earlier slot, or rescheduled | Free move |
| High wind and dust | Rescheduled. Grit in a wash mitt scratches paint | Free move |
| You cancel over 24 hours ahead | n/a | Full refund |
| You cancel under 24 hours | n/a | 50 percent |
| Van arrives and the car is not there | n/a | Full charge |
You are told by 07:00 on the morning if any of the first three apply. Mateo would rather move your slot than detail a car badly, and a sealant applied in the wrong conditions fails in six weeks rather than six months.
