Three sponsor deliverables you have been paid for and not delivered
Revenue map, operating calendar and sponsor workflow, built from twelve months of a business that lives in your inbox.
You make about USD 11,400 a month across four revenue lines and you have never seen them in one place. This is that place, plus the sponsor pipeline and the content calendar. Building it found three paid sponsor obligations that were never fulfilled, the oldest from June.
Two sponsors paid for placements that never ran and one is owed a second video from a two-video deal. Total value USD 7,200. None of it was deliberate; there was no list. This is a liability and it is the first thing on the plan.
Owed
Deal with these this week
| Sponsor | Paid | Agreed | Delivered | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sponsor A | USD 3,200, June | Two videos | One, 14 June | One outstanding |
| Sponsor B | USD 2,400, August | Newsletter placement, two issues | None | Both outstanding |
| Sponsor C | USD 1,600, September | One video mention | None | Outstanding |
| Total | USD 7,200 |
All three were agreed over email or a call, invoiced, paid, and then lost because nothing tracked the obligation after the money arrived. Two of the three sponsors have not chased, which makes it more urgent rather than less.
Revenue
Where the money comes from
| Line | Monthly | Your hours | Per hour | Read |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sponsorship | USD 7,060 | 18 | USD 392 | Highest value, least systematic |
| Paid newsletter | USD 2,180 | 26 | USD 84 | Underpriced or over-delivered |
| Digital course | USD 1,520 | 9 | USD 169 | Seasonal, could be evergreen |
| Affiliate | USD 640 | 3 | USD 213 | Fine as it is |
| Free content | USD 0 | 44 | n/a | The engine. Not a cost centre |
The paid newsletter takes more of your hours than everything else that earns, and returns the least per hour. That is a pricing and format question rather than an effort question, and it is the biggest single opportunity here after the sponsor obligations.
Pipeline
The sponsor workflow that now exists
Six stages, each with one rule. The stage that did not exist is the last one, which is the entire reason for section 01.
| Prospects | Value | Rule | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Inbound enquiry | 4 | Unknown | Reply within 48 hours or they go elsewhere |
| 2 Qualified | 3 | USD 9,000 | Audience fit confirmed, budget stated |
| 3 Proposal sent | 2 | USD 6,400 | Rate card, not a negotiation from zero |
| 4 Agreed | 1 | USD 2,800 | In writing, with dates, before any work |
| 5 Delivered | 0 | Proof of delivery sent to the sponsor | |
| 6 Reported and closed | 0 | The stage that was missing |
Stages 5 and 6 are empty because they have never existed as steps. Adding them is what prevents a repeat of section 01, and stage 6, sending the sponsor a short performance note, is also the single most effective thing you can do to get renewed.
Calendar
The operating week
- Monday, 20 min
Obligations first
What is owed to a sponsor this week, before anything creative. This is the habit that makes section 01 impossible to repeat.
- Monday
Content committed for the week
Two pieces, named, with a publish date. Not a backlog review, a commitment.
- Wednesday, 30 min
Sponsor outbound
Three approaches. Sponsorship is 62 percent of your income and currently happens only when somebody emails you first.
- Friday, 15 min
Close what shipped
Mark delivered, send the proof, note the numbers. Fifteen minutes that turns a one-off sponsor into a repeat one.
- Monthly
Revenue check against the four lines
You have never had this view. Fifteen minutes with section 02 refreshed.
- Three sponsor obligations acknowledged with dates
- Rate card written, so pricing stops being invented per deal
- Sponsor pipeline live with all six stages
- Content calendar populated four weeks out
- Newsletter pricing and scope revisited
- One outbound sponsor approach made this week
