MoveHouse example move plan

This Organization does not sell a report. What you keep is the move plan: the volume we estimated, what the crew will and will not carry, the permit you need, and what the liability limit actually means.

A complete sample confirmation, written the way MoveHouse writes one. The customer, the dates and the amounts are illustrative, and nothing here was charged or reserved.

Friday 16 October, two crew, 22 m³ estimated from your video survey. Two things need you before then: the Halteverbotszone at both addresses, and a decision about the piano, which is not in the price.

Confirmed, with two things outstanding

Small apartment move, Friday 16 October, 08:00 start, two crew and one 3.5 t vehicle. Estimated 22 m³, which fits. Parking permits are not arranged and must be applied for by 9 October. The upright piano was not in the survey and needs the Heavy Item Add-On and a third crew member.

01

Access

Both ends, surveyed

Kreuzberg, fromPankow, to
Floor 4th 2nd
Lift None Yes, 1.1 m x 1.4 m
Stairs 68 steps, two turns, narrow at the top 34 steps, wide
Street access Oranienstraße, busy, bus route Quiet residential
Vehicle can stop outside Only with a permit Only with a permit
Carry distance without a permit About 80 m About 40 m
Estimated loading time 3 hours with a permit, 4.5 without 2 hours

No lift at the Kreuzberg end is the single biggest factor in this move and it is why the estimate is two crew for most of a day rather than a morning. The wardrobe comes apart; the sofa was measured against the stairwell turn and clears it by 6 cm.

02

Permits

The thing that goes wrong on Berlin moves

ScenarioLikely cost
Permits at both ends USD 90, and the move finishes early afternoon
Permit at Pankow only About USD 195 in extra crew time
No permits About USD 290 in extra crew time, and a longer day
Permit obtained but a car is parked in it We call the police to have it removed. Usually 60 to 90 minutes

The last row happens more often than people expect and the permit is what makes removal possible. Without the permit, a blocked kerb is just a blocked kerb.

03

The piano

Not in the survey, not in the price

The video survey did not show an upright piano and you mentioned it afterwards. It changes the job rather than adding to it.

ItemPosition
Weight Typically 200 to 250 kg for an upright
Crew Three minimum, not two, down 68 steps with two turns
Equipment Piano board and straps, which the van carries
Cost Heavy Item Add-On USD 160, plus a third crew member for the day at USD 190
Insurance Covered within the standard limit, see clause 04
Tuning afterwards Always needed. Not our service
If it is not declared The crew will decline to move it on the day

The last row is not a penalty. Two people do not take 230 kg down a narrow turn safely, and a crew that tries because the customer is upset is how someone gets badly hurt. Declare it and it is a straightforward job; do not and it stays in the flat.

04

Liability

What is covered, and the gap people miss

CoveredLimit
Damage caused by the crew Yes USD 620 per m³, standard German removals basis
Damage to the property, both ends Yes Public liability
Items you packed yourself Only for external damage to the box Not for contents breakage
Items we packed Yes, fully Standard limit
Cash, jewellery, documents Not carried Take them yourself
Electronics without original packaging Limited Declare them and we will box them
Pre-existing damage No Photographed at load

The row that matters is self-packed boxes. If you pack a box and a glass inside it breaks, that is not covered, because nobody can know how it was packed. If we pack it, it is. This is standard across German removals and is the reason the packing service exists.

  • Apply for both permits by 9 October
  • Confirm the piano by 9 October so a third crew member is rostered
  • Take cash, jewellery, documents and anything irreplaceable in your own car
  • Label boxes by room, not by contents. The crew reads the room
  • Keep one box of essentials with you. It is always the one that ends up at the back
  • Be present at both ends, or name someone who is
