Private Party DJ · from USD 550
DJ Marek, Saturday, 21:00 to 03:00
Berlin, Kreuzberg loft. Six hours, own system, the do-not-play list is the useful part.
Marek plays 21:00 to 03:00 with his own system. The most valuable part of this document is clause 02, because a do-not-play list is the single best predictor of whether a private party dance floor works, and yours is currently one line long.
DJ Marek Nowak, Saturday 21 November, 21:00 to 03:00, with his own PA and floor lighting for 110 people. Your loft needs a 16 A supply confirmed by 14 November. The music brief has a clear direction and an almost empty do-not-play list, which is worth ten minutes before the night.

The music
The brief, and the list that is too short
| Element | Agreed |
|---|---|
| Direction | House and disco, opening warm and melodic, harder after midnight |
| Reference artists | Four supplied, all appropriate and all understood |
| Early evening | Nothing above 118 bpm before 22:00. People are still talking |
| Peak | Around 00:30 to 01:30, per your guest profile |
| Last track | Your choice. Tell Marek by 14 November or he will pick |
| Do not play | One line: no Schlager |
| Requests | See below |
| Language | Marek speaks German and English. Will not use a microphone unless asked |
Requests
How they are handled, decided now
Every private party has a guest who wants to speak to the DJ. Agreeing the policy in advance means Marek is not making a judgement about your friend at 01:00.
| Chosen | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
| Requests accepted, DJ decides if and when | Yes, this one | |
| All requests refused politely | Available | |
| Only requests from a named person | Available. Often the best option | |
| Anything goes, all requests played | Available, and not advised |
You chose the first. Marek takes requests, plays the ones that fit and quietly does not play the ones that do not, without explaining himself to the guest. If you would rather nominate one person as the only voice he listens to, say so by 14 November; on a 40th with 110 guests it is a common and effective choice.
The venue
Three things the loft must confirm
| Requirement | Why | If not |
|---|---|---|
| 16 A supply, or 2 separate 13 A circuits | PA and lighting on one domestic circuit will trip | Lighting is dropped, USD 340 refunded |
| Load in at ground level or by lift | Two subs and a booth do not go up three flights | Extra crew, USD 160 |
| Music permitted until 03:00 | Berlin residential rules vary by building | Set ends earlier, no refund |
| Neighbours told | A loft party at 01:00 in Kreuzberg | Your problem, not ours |
| Someone with access at 18:30 | Not 19:30 | Late setup, and the 21:00 start slips |
The power question is the one that actually happens. A domestic loft with one ring main running a PA, two subs, lighting and a kitchen is a circuit that trips at 23:30, which is the worst possible moment.
