Where to stay, before which hotel
Neighbourhood decides more of a Lisbon trip than the hotel does, because the city is steep and the metro does not go everywhere. Given two dinners in Príncipe Real and a dawn flight, three areas work and the famous one does not.

Alfama is the area on every list of where to stay in Lisbon and it is the wrong answer for a trip with a mobility constraint and an early flight. It is a lovely place to spend an afternoon.

Flat to both dinners, direct metro to the airport, lift from the street, quiet side road. Rooms are the smallest of the four and the breakfast is unremarkable. Neither of those matters for four nights.
The Larchfield, USD 210
Better room, better building, closest to your dinners. Over budget by USD 120 across the stay, and the airport run needs a change at 05:15 on a Sunday when the interchange is slow.
Solar das Flores, USD 145
The steps. Everything else about it is genuinely lovely and none of it survives an 06:40 flight and a knee that does not do hills.

None of these are visible on a booking site and all six change the answer if they come back wrong. Email the property directly; they answer faster than the platform.
- Is the lift working, and does it reach from street level or from the first floor?
- Is a 05:15 checkout possible, and can the bill be settled the night before?
- Is the room at the front or the back? Ask for the back
- Is breakfast included at USD 168 or added?
- Is there a tourist tax per person per night, and is it in the quoted rate?
- Can they store bags on the 12th if you arrive before check-in?
