What the customer receives

StudioSlot example booking confirmation

A studio booking is sold by the hour and the hour is the thing people get wrong. This confirms the window, what is in the room, what overtime costs, and when the clock actually starts.

A complete sample confirmation, written the way StudioSlot writes one. The customer, the dates and the amounts are illustrative, and nothing here was charged or reserved.

Your four hours are 09:00 to 13:00 and they include load-in and load-out. That is the single most common misunderstanding in studio hire, so it is the first line here rather than a footnote.

On the day

Arrival, overtime and the state you leave it in

  1. 08:45

    Loading bay opens

Two bays held. Unload, then move vehicles to street parking.

  2. 09:00

Studio manager opens the room with you

Two minute walkthrough, note any existing marks, hand over the strobe kit.

  3. 12:30

    Start wrapping

The half hour is not a suggestion. Paper down, stands collapsed, bins used.

  4. 13:00

    Room clear

Studio manager checks the room with you. Overtime starts at 13:01 in half hour blocks.

  5. Within 24 hrs

    Balance and any extras settle

Paper used, overtime, anything damaged. Itemised, never a round number.

  • Sweep the cyc if you have marked it. A repaint is USD 220 and it is charged
  • No gaffer tape on the walls or the floor other than the cyc
  • Anything hired leaves the room in the case it arrived in
  • Tell the studio manager about a spill immediately, not at 13:00
  • The next booking is at 14:00, so 13:00 is a real deadline rather than a soft one
