Why the blouse and the jumper stopped
| Item | Label | What we did | Options |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silk blouse, cream | Dry clean only | Not washed | Dry clean at USD 11, or return untouched |
| Lambswool jumper, grey | Dry clean only | Not washed | Dry clean at USD 11, or return untouched |
Plenty of silk and wool survives a careful cold wash. Plenty does not, and the one that does not is always the one somebody cared about. We follow the care label and ask, which costs you two days and no money.
| The shirt collar | Position |
|---|---|
| What it is | A set-in collar mark, probably long standing |
| Treated | Yes, standard pre-treatment |
| Result | Improved, not removed |
| Could a stronger treatment remove it | Possibly, with a risk to the fabric |
| What we did | Stopped at the safe point and told you |
| Charge | None. Stain treatment is included |
Terms
Return, and the limit if something goes wrong
| Situation | Position |
|---|---|
| Return window | Thursday 18:00 to 21:00. You get a message 30 minutes ahead |
| Nobody home | One free redelivery, then USD 8 |
| Item damaged by us | Ten times the cleaning charge for that item, capped at USD 180 |
| Item lost | Same limit. Item tracking means this is rare |
| Damage from an incorrect or missing care label | Not covered |
| Items not collected within 90 days | Treated as abandoned |
| Something we should not have been given | Returned unprocessed, as above |
The limit is standard in the trade and it is lower than people expect. A coat worth USD 600 is not insured for USD 600 by a laundry order, and if you are sending something valuable the honest advice is to take it to a specialist and insure it separately.
- Reply by Wednesday on the two held items, or they come back untouched
- Check pockets before the bag goes out, though we check too
- Pairs: the single navy sock is noted and will be returned on its own
- Anything with a missing care label is washed at our discretion and is not covered
- Tell us about a stain and what caused it. It roughly doubles the chance of removing it
