Extension Management · from USD 120
Assignment extended three months, unit 12-04
Singapore. Same apartment, new end date, and the two things the employer still has to do.
Unit 12-04 extended from 31 December to 31 March, same apartment, same assignee, no move. The rate changes on 1 January because the original three month rate was an introductory one. Clause 04 is the part your mobility team needs.
One bedroom, unit 12-04, Tanjong Pagar, extended to 31 March 2027 for K. Oyelaran. The unit was not relet so there is no move and no re-setup cost. The monthly rate rises from USD 3,100 to USD 3,340 on 1 January, which is the standard rate after the first three months.

The extension
What changes and what does not
| Before | From 1 January | |
|---|---|---|
| Unit | 12-04 | 12-04, unchanged |
| Assignee | K. Oyelaran | Unchanged |
| End date | 31 December 2026 | 31 March 2027 |
| Monthly rate | USD 3,100 | USD 3,340 |
| Why | Introductory rate, first 3 months | Standard rate thereafter |
| Servicing | Weekly | Weekly, unchanged |
| Notice to end | 30 days | 30 days, unchanged |
| Billing | Consolidated, account 4402 | Unchanged |
The rate change is the only substantive difference and it was in the original agreement rather than being introduced now. It is flagged here because a consolidated invoice makes a 240 dollar monthly increase easy to miss until a quarterly review.
Timing
Why this was worth doing in October
| Decision point | Outcome |
|---|---|
| Extend by 15 October | Same unit, no move. What happened |
| Extend in November | Probably a different unit in the same building |
| Extend in December | Different building, move, re-setup |
| No extension | Assignee vacates 31 December, standard checkout |
The assignee
What K. Oyelaran needs to know
- Nothing changes for them. Same keys, same unit, same servicing day
- They have been told the extension is confirmed, by us, on the day it was agreed
- The tenancy is between Meridian Systems and WorkStay. The assignee is an authorised occupant, not a tenant
- Their occupancy is single. Adding a partner or family member requires a unit change and employer approval
- Visitors are fine. An additional person staying is not
- Servicing continues on Wednesdays between 09:00 and 13:00
Not ours
What remains the employer's obligation
| Obligation | Whose | Note |
|---|---|---|
| The assignee's right to remain in Singapore | Meridian Systems | WorkStay does not check, monitor or advise on pass validity |
| Any pass renewal aligned to the new end date | Meridian Systems | An extension of housing is not an extension of anything else |
| Registration of the assignee's address if required | Meridian Systems | We supply a tenancy letter on request, same day |
| Tax consequences of the assignment length | Meridian Systems | Housing duration can affect residency tests. Not our area |
| Insurance for the assignee's possessions | Assignee or employer | The unit's contents are insured. The assignee's are not |
| Approval that this extension is authorised | Meridian Systems | Received from your mobility team, 29 September |
